Welcome to our Parent Information Page. The table above provides a quick link to the information you may need. You can click
on each individual link to go directly to that section of the document. The title bars of each section are back links provided
that will return you to the table at the top of this page. You can also use the scroll bar at the right to scan through the
entire document.
The children may enter the building at the 8:10 bell. Children who are eating breakfast at school will be allowed to
enter the building earlier, but must report directly to the gym. Once they finish eating they will be asked to return to their
class line outside until the 8:10 bell rings.
School officially starts at 8:30 and our normal dismissal time is 3:10. Due to congestion in the halls, we ask that you wait
for your child outside.
If there is a change in your child's after school routine, please send a DATED note in your child's DAISY'S Notebook and/or
call the office to let us know how the child is to get home. Without this communication your child will be sent to his/her
usual place.

Please make sure your child brings their tote bag / backpack and D.A.I.S.Y.'S. notebook everyday. For more information
about our D.A.I.S.Y.'S Notebook just click on the little bear and she'll show you more.

Lunch money should be sent in an envelope labeled with your child's name. There is a money pouch in DAISY’S Notebook
to carry money back and forth to school. Please be sure that the lunch box or bag is labeled with your child's full
name.

You are welcome to send treats to celebrate your child's birthday. If your child
has a summer birthday, it may be celebrated at your convenience.
Please make sure treats are easy to hand out (pre-cut, individual servings or individually wrapped).
Please DO NOT send party invitations to school for distribution as it causes hurt feelings for those who do not receive them.

In mid-September your child will begin bringing books home each day in a book bag to read each night. You will receive more information about this program at a later date.

Each month I will try to send book orders home with your child. You are not obligated to purchase books from these orders,
but if you do decide to order, please return the form and the money in an envelop, labeled with your child's name. Checks
should be written out to Scholastic.

We will be operating on a six-day cycle again this year. Tuesday, August
22nd is officially Day 1. In order for us to stay on the same cycle day as West
and Middle School our first day of school (Wednesday, August 23rd) will be Day 2. Our
class specials will be held on the following days:
Day
1 --- Computer Skills and Library
Day
2 --- Music and P.E.
Day
3 --- P.E.
Day
4 --- Art
Day
5 --- Guidance and Music
Day
6 --- P.E.

Please
make sure your child wears appropriate clothing (no skirts or dresses) on P.E. days in order to participate fully in the various
activities (Please check your child’s P.E. shoes before sending them to
school to make sure their shoestrings are not extremely long.)

You are welcome to visit
our classroom at any time, I do ask that you wait at least two weeks to allow us time to get our routine established. A favorite thing some parents have done in past years was to come at 11:30 and stay
for lunch. We go to lunch at 11:35. Please
send a note or call the office a day or two in advance so we can notify the kitchen staff.

The beginning of a new school year can be exhausting. Try to encourage your child
positively and make sure he/she gets plenty of rest. Review papers in the D.A.I.S.Y.'S.
Notebook each night and ask your child questions about the day. Reading
to your child is one of the best gifts you can give. Try to set aside at least
ten minutes each day to read together.

*If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please feel free to contact
me at school between 8 AM and 4 PM (334-7425) or you can email me at reidykris@indytel.com I hope you will check
out our new classroom website often. I am still learning how to use this technology and hope you will feel free to comment
on our site and provide feedback as to what you would like to see added in the future.
Sincerely, Mrs. Reidy
